Updates on the California Wildfires - January 12, 2025
The California wildfires continue to impact communities across the state as of January 12, 2025. Firefighters remain tirelessly on the front lines, battling intense flames fueled by strong winds and dry conditions. Evacuation orders are in effect for several regions, and residents are urged to stay updated with local emergency services for the latest information.
While containment progress has been made in some areas, others remain actively burning, posing risks to homes, wildlife, and critical infrastructures. Authorities stress the importance of preparedness and adhering to evacuation protocols to ensure safety. Please monitor official sources for real-time updates and resources as this situation evolves. For all concerned their are live news updates onine. This is officially a world disaster! It's sad and scary. The most common source for fires in the united States
is lightning according to the National Fire Protection Association. Which it seems investigators have ruled out pretty quickly. There has been no reports of lightning in the Palisades area, or the terrain around the Eaton Fire area; which started in east Los Angeles County and has also destroyed hundreds of homes. It's terrifying at best and horrifying at best. The other two common reasons for fires are intentionally set, and those sparked by untility lines and fireworks.
What you should know pertaining to the California wildfires:
The Santa Ana winds are most definitely expected to pick up in strength today, with gusts of 30 to 50 mph in the coastal areas, and up to 70 mph up in the mountains of Los Angeles, and Ventura counties. A fire warning remains in effect until Wednesday, and officials said winds could pick up again on Tuesday night...
The wind keeps feeding the wildfires, and have killed at least 16 people that we know of, and swept through 40,000 acres in the greater Los Angeles area. The wildfires have destroyed entire communities and more than 12,300 structures.
Evacuation orders for the largest blaze, the Palisades Fire, expanded. It is 11% contained and threatens Brentwood, Encino and Westwood... Everyone must keep themselves safe by staying updated and making sure to evacuate any areas of concern. This is so sad to me. What's so crazy is it seems like no one truly knows the root cause.
Evacuation orders are in place for 105,000 L.A. residents, and 87,000 are in evacuation warning zones, which means they may need to leave at a moment’s notice.
Los Angeles County declared a public health emergency, warning and has stated that smoke and particulate matter could pose immediate and long-term threats to everyone. I placed an evacuation map for the evacuation warning zones beneath here
